How to Troubleshoot Stripe Issues Related to Your Personal Verifications

Learn how to troubleshoot Stripe issues related to your personal verifications as a coach.

The Coachly Customer Service team may ask you for details related to your personal verifications, in order to help solve your Stripe issues.

The most common personal verification issues hindering Coachly coaches from completing their Stripe accounts are detailed below.

Identity Verification

Likely Cause of the Issue: Not Using Your Legal Name

Please check if your SSN or other government ID name exactly matches the name that you used to create your Coachly and/or Stripe account. They must match.

Address Verification

Likely Cause of the Issue: Using the Wrong Address

Please check if the Home Address that you provide Stripe matches you personal ID, and also matches the address you gave Coachly.

SSN or ITIN

Likely Cause of the Issue: 2023-24 Updates Made to the US Verification Requirements

Sole proprietors and single member LLCs must provide their accurate business address.

All legal entity types must provide an email for the account representative, including government entities and public companies.

Additionally, there are some changes to Stripe's SSN and ITIN requirements:

  • SSN or ITIN for US resident representatives

  • Last 4 digits required at onboarding for all Stripe connected account types.

  • If the last 4 digits fail verification, representatives will need to provide the full 9 digits to Stripe.
