How to Use the Face Feature Overlay for Video Analysis in the Coachly App

Learn how to use the face feature overlay for video analysis as a coach.

  1. The Face Feature Overlay can be accessed anytime you're within our video analysis suite. You can get their by giving an Analysis, Full Remote, or Chat Subscription Lesson, for example. But we explain how to do so when starting from your Gallery.

  2. Tap on the Gallery Grid Icon on the bottom navigation menu of most screens within the app.

  3. Tap the Gallery category folder that houses the video you’d like to share.

  4. Tap to select the video or image that you'd like to analyze.

  5. Tap Analyze in bottom of your screen, or alternatively, tap the three dots in the upper left corner of your screen and then tap the Analyze... option.

  6. Inside the video analysis suite, tap the Face Feature Overlay icon in the upper right of your screen. You'll see a small overlay circle set to selfie record. This small circle with your face in it can be easily moved and positioned anywhere on the video analysis suite screen.

  7. You can choose to tap on the small overlay circle to expand it to full screen. This is helpful for when you want to demonstrate a technique or drill for you client with your whole body. From this expanded full screen view, you can choose to tap the reverse camera icon in the bottom left to switch from selfie to regular forward camera view, just like you would on your device's camera.

  8. Once you're ready to actually start recording your video analysis feedback, tap the red circle centered at the top of your screen once you’re ready to start recording your analysis.

  9. Allow screen capture in Coachly, by tapping Record Screen & Microphone in the popup that appears.

  10. When you’re finished with recording, tap the white pause circle centered at the top of your screen and then tap the red square to stop your recording.

  11. If you’re satisfied with your recording after reviewing it, tap USE VIDEO in the upper right of your screen. If you’re not satisfied with your recording, tap Start Over in the bottom left of the screen to take another crack at your feedback.

  12. When you tap USE VIDEO, the analyzed and completed video will load into your coaching Gallery.
